Dr. Williams is Associate Medical Director of Thoracic Surgery at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY. She received her Bachelor of Science degree at the College of New Jersey and then went on to earn her medical degree at Penn State University College of Medicine. Dr. Williams completed her residency in surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, NY, during which time she also completed a two-year research fellowship focused on benign and malignant diseases of the esophagus. She then continued on at the University of Rochester to complete a residency in cardiothoracic surgery.
Dr. Williams specializes in thoracic surgery. Her interests include lung cancer, esophageal cancer, airway surgery and minimally-invasive surgical procedures, such as VATS lobectomy, laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery and minimally-invasive esophagectomy. She has a particular interest in benign esophageal diseases, such as reflux disease, as well as endoscopic therapies for Barrett’s esophagus and dysplasia.
As an established thoracic surgeon, she is the only surgeon in the region to offer LINX, a minimally invasive procedure for patients diagnosed with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). She has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Cincinnati Magazine for the past five years. She has authored several scientific articles and has presented her work at various forums throughout the country.
