During this year-long fellowship, fellows will be exposed to excellent leaders and interdisciplinary teams (IDTs) that have role-modeled and created unique specialties in advance illness evaluation and management. The main focus of the Hospice and Palliative Fellowship Program is to embody and model the medical, spiritual and psycho-social dimensions in patient and family-centered care. The H&PM fellowship program is committed to all aspects of training including patient and family-centered clinical care, performance improvement and research in H&PM. Our commitment is to train distinguished candidates who will excel as future leaders in the specialty of Hospice and Palliative Medicine. TRICE'S PROFILE Meet Our Hospice and Palliative Medicine Fellow: CR Nyland Dr. CR Nyland is a Family Practice Physician who also concurrently serves as the Medical Director of a local nursing home. He is a 2020 graduate of the St. Elizabeth Family Medicine Residency program. Dr. Nyland is originally from California. Prior to his career in medicine he served as a medic in the US Air Force with tours in Space Command and with the 35th Fighter Wing in Japan. In his spare time, Dr. Nyland is a beekeeper, home brewer and woodworker and enjoys riding his motorcycle. He lives in Northern Kentucky with his wife and daughter.
