St. Elizabeth Foundation Cancer Center Campaign Report

29 CANCER CENTER CAMPAIGN REPORT Endowed Chair Program In funding an Endowed Chair at the St. Elizabeth Cancer Center, you are establishing a lifetime of support for the groundbreaking work of a physician leader right here. You lay the groundwork for caregivers to advance their speciality in ways we've not yet imagined and elevate the care they provide. When Dell Ann and Bob Sathe became aware of St. Elizabeth Healthcare’s plans for the expansion of cancer prevention, screening, detection and treatment in Northern Kentucky, they bought into the idea. Dell Ann was diagnosed with breast cancer eight years ago and was successfully treated, so the Sathes know the vital role leading-edge care plays in the restoration of good health. And they feel patients receive that care at St. Elizabeth. So when the Sathes were presented with the opportunity to fund an endowed chair for Dr. Doug Flora, who has become a friend, they jumped on the chance. “It was the right thing to do, and we are excited about helping to fund the future for cancer care,” Bob said. “As I look at the vision of St. Elizabeth and its goal for the region, it is one well worth funding because it will provide future generations with quality care that will minimize the impact of cancer on people’s lives. I have been impressed with the ability of St. Elizabeth Healthcare's leadership to make big decisions in a timely fashion. Often, large institutions procrastinate with some of the bigger decisions. That is not true with St. Elizabeth. They have a decisive group of leaders who know how to act and prioritize those actions. We continue to be impressed.” Robert B.
