Xylazine is secretly being added to fentanyl and other opioids by street drug manufacturers to intensify the effects of the drugs.

“Xylazine is particularly dangerous. It really isn't approved for human consumption. It's actually a veterinary sedative hypnotic,” said St. Elizabeth addiction medicine expert Mike Kalfas.
