R.J. Seifert relied on the strength of his knees as he was climbing stairs and showing houses as a residential real estate agent. He remembers when his knees were hurting, “I would have to say I was going to skip the basement and I am going to skip the second floor—to stay away from the stairs.”

R.J. would also have to change vacation plans. He once enjoyed hiking and campaign but now his body was telling him that he needed to slow down. He remembers, “My body would say, ’You are only going to have a few miles on that knee today.’”

Dr. Matthew T. Hummel, an affiliated orthopaedic surgeon with OrthoCincy Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine, performed R.J.’s surgery at St. Elizabeth Healthcare.

He describes his experience, “Dr. Hummel and everyone there, from his nurse practitioner to the billing department–everyone was excellent.”

It has been almost six years and R.J. says, “I would do it again today.”
