The Super Bowl is coming up fast, and even though you’ve likely been invited to a few parties, you’re not that into football or the teams playing this year.
That’s okay! We searched for alternatives to watching the big game this Sunday and devised the eight ideas below.
Check them out:
- Go to the gym: You may not have any tailgating foods to work off, but going to an empty gym not only gets your workout in for the day but also can help boost your mood and energy.
- Watch for the commercials and have a commercial fitness challenge: You don’t have to pay attention to the game to have fun. Watch the commercials and do this fitness challenge by Women’s Health Magazine.
- Go bowling: It’s not the same as The Big Game, but it does have the word ‘bowl’ in it. It’s a fun and active alternative if you aren’t into football.
- Watch the Puppy and Kitty Bowl: Yes, both a Puppy Bowl and a Kitty Bowl with adoptable animals participating.
- Eat at a popular restaurant (without TVs): Treat yourself to a nice healthy meal without having to cook. If it’s not a sports bar and doesn’t have TVs showing the game, you probably won’t even need a reservation.
- Do some shopping: Didn’t get those boots you wanted for Christmas? Odds are your favorite stores won’t be packed and those items from the holidays are on sale now.
- Make yourself a healthy snack and watch an Oscar-nominated film: Make yourself some popcorn (sans fattening butter), and sit back for a good movie.
- Head to the city: Take the day to do something fun that you haven’t done before. Visit the Newport Aquarium or the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Gardens.
