Have you stepped outside in the last week?
Then you’ve probably noticed the cooler temperatures rolling in. If this, coupled with the Farmers’ Almanac prediction for a frigid Halloween, has you concerned that trick-or-treating will be intolerable this year, why not go trick-or-treating a little earlier?
It’s also a great opportunity to let young kids get comfortable wearing their costumes before the big night.
We read about 15 places with “pre-trick-or-treating” in Cincinnati Parent Magazine. Many of them are open daily now until November 1. Note: Three of the 15 were one weekend only and have passed. Here are the remaining 12:
HallZOOween at Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
- Hours: Open daily 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

Jack O’Lantern Junction at EnterTRAINment Junction

Fall-O-Ween Festival at Coney Island
- Hours: 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. each day

- Children under age 2: FREE unless the child will participate in Trick or Treat Trail. All trick-or-treaters must pay admission. General Admission (ages 2 and up): $11.00
Haunted Village at Sharon Woods Heritage Village Museum
- Hours: Open 6 pm-10 pm each day
- Every Friday and Saturday, October 9 – 24
- $8.00 for anyone 2 and up. Museum members’ admission is free
Snoopy’s Halloween Party at King’s Island

Even if you plan to go out trick-or-treating on Halloween, you can still attend one of these events so your children can practice – which means they’ll be better at picking the best candy for you!
