Just because it’s starting to get colder outside doesn’t mean you should neglect your running shoes or jump on the dreaded treadmill. November is full of races to help you stay in shape and support causes in your area.

1. Reading, Writing and Running 5K Walk/Run “” November 1
- Where: Colerain Park, 4725 Springdale Road
- When: November 1, 10 a.m.
- What: Located next to the Colerain Middle School, this race will fund programs for students to improve reading and writing skills.
- Cost: Before 11/1: $25 for an adult; $20 for a child under 12
Race-day registration: $35 for an adult; $25 for a child under 12.
2. 4th Annual Run for the Troops 5K “” November 1
- Where: Otto Armleder Memorial Park, 5057 Wooster Pike
- When: November 1, 10 a.m.
- What: This 5K benefits local veteran organizations, including the Yellow Ribbon Support Foundation, Compass Retreat Center and Joseph House. On race day, participants are encouraged to bring care package items for soldiers.
- Cost: Before 10/27: $30 for adults; $20 for children 14 and under, seniors 55 and older, or all military members

3. Mason Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk “” November 2
- Where: Mason High School, 6100 Mason Montgomery Road
- When: November 2, 8 a.m.
- What: Each race entry helps the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Cincinnati and Columbus provide valuable resources to the community, including counseling, support groups, community education, residential group homes, camping programs, adult day activity programs and much more.
- Cost:
o 5K: before 10/29 – $35 for adults; $20 for children 12 and under
Race-day registration: $45 for adults; $20 for children 12 and under
o Half marathon: before 10/29 – $50

4. Disabled American Veterans (DAV) 5K “” November 8
- Where: Sawyer Point, 705 East Pete Rose Way
- When: November 8, 9 a.m.
- What: The DAV 5K honors and thanks all active-duty service members and veterans. It helps injured veterans lead fulfilling lives. All runners, walkers and veterans who use hand-cycles or wheelchairs are invited to participate. Motorcycles are invited to start off the race.
- Cost: Early-bird registration: $30
Motorcycle registration: $30
Youth registration: $15
Veterans and service members: $15 with a custom t-shirt or free with no shirt
5. Girls on the Run Greater Cincinnati 5K “” November 15
- Where: Sawyer Point, 705 East Pete Rose Way
- When: November 15, 10 a.m.
- What: Join 1,500 area girls celebrate the end of their 12-week training season and complete their first 5K.
- Cost: 10/4-11/14: $20.

6. 105th Annual Thanksgiving Day 10K Race“”November 27
- Where: Paul Brown Stadium
- When: November 27, 9 a.m.
- What: Join thousands of runners and walkers on Thanksgiving morning to burn a few calories before your big meal. The course winds through Downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
- Cost : before 10/31: $31
