St. Elizabeth Edgewood has been re-certified for two years as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center by The Joint Commission and the American Heart Association. This award affirms the high quality provided by the Florence Wormald Heart & Vascular Institute at St. Elizabeth and certifies that we provide the next generation of cardiac care. There are 14 hospitals in the U.S. currently certified as Comprehensive Cardiac Centers.
“This significant recognition – achieved for the second time – is a reflection of the teamwork across the organization to deliver the best care to every cardiac patient, every time,” said Gary Blank, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of St. Elizabeth Healthcare. “It also reflects a program that is both deep and broad, offering everything from prevention to the latest minimally invasive procedures. Everyone directly and indirectly involved in the care of cardiac patients had a hand in this success.”
“I am so proud of this team,” said D.P. Suresh, MD, Executive Medical Director of the Heart & Vascular Institute. “What we have accomplished as one of 14 hospitals in the nation with this recognition is phenomenal. More importantly, it points to our commitment to our patients to provide the best care, right here. And that is the true reward.”
