Camps for the entertainer
- Learn to dance: The Cincinnati Ballet has eight different summer camps to teach your child the art of dance, no matter his or her experience level.
- Find your inner choir nerd: The Cincinnati Boychoir encourages young men to embrace their love of music during SongFest Summer Music Camp. Boys entering grades 2 through 6 will attend music classes, participate in a daily drum circle and much more.
- Improve your juggling skills: Your tiny trapeze artist or clown will love the Cincinnati Circus Campers learn to juggle, make balloon animals and even walk a tight rope.
- Nurture your dramatic flair: University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music will help your young singer, actor or ballerina refine their talents. Some camps require auditions, so check the registration carefully.
Camps for the lifelong learner
- Create beautiful works of art: The Cincinnati Art Museum encourages your budding artist to embrace his skills. The camp theme changes each week, and includes contemporary art, printed works and even the art of telling a spooky story.
- Explore the museum: The Cincinnati Museum Center offers activities for kids in grades 2 through 9. With themes ranging from Star Wars to Harry Potter and Super Heroes, your child will have fun while she learns.
- Watch the stars: The Drake Planetarium has a wide range of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) camps. Participants can build rockets, construct buildings or try to make objects fly.
- Get ready for the next level: Most local high schools offer summer camps for elementary or middle school children. Check with your local high school to learn more about the programming that could fit your child’s interests or academic needs.
Camps for the nature lover
- Spend time outside: The Cincinnati Parks’ Summer Nature Day Camps are the perfect option to help you pry tablets and phones from your little ones’ hands and send them outside. Kids can test theories at the Science Mythbusters camp or solve puzzles during the Nature Detective camp.
- Talk with the animals: If your child loves giraffes, zebras and monkeys, the Cincinnati Zoo camp is the right choice for you. Each camper will receive a t-shirt and daily snacks. The zoo will take your child on hikes, introduce them to animal encounters and feedings, and show them the zoo during train rides.
- Care for animals: Gorman Heritage Farm summer camp, available for ages 4 to 15, is perfect for the aspiring farmer. Campers will interact with barnyard animals, explore farm, play games, hike and make crafts.
Camps for the sports fanatic
- Toss a ball with the pros: The Cincinnati Reds’ summer camp is a good fit for any aspiring baseball or softball player. Participants will meet Reds players and show off their skills at Great American Ballpark.
- Tame your tiny jumping bean: If you can’t keep your kids from jumping on the bed or the couch, sign them up for SkyCamp. Sky Zone Trampoline Park teaches campers aerial acrobatics, encourages open jumping and even monitors a daily flying dodgeball game!
- Camp for the day: The YMCA offers traditional day camps, sports camps, specialty camps and for children of all ages, from preschoolers to teenagers.
