Warm apple cider is a seasonal favorite, and this version adds another favorite holiday flavor to the mix: Cranberries.
The dark cranberry color is the perfect addition to your holiday party menu, and the rich winter scent will also help welcome guests into your home. Added bonus: The only cookware you need is a slow cooker!
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons whole allspice
- 4 sticks cinnamon (3 inch)
- 1 bottle (48 oz) apple cider (6 cups)
- 1 bottle (48 oz) cranberry juice cocktail (6 cups)
- 1 orange (optional, but a wonderful added touch)
Directions
- In 4- to 5-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients.
- Cover; cook on Low heat setting 4 to 6 hours. Before serving, remove allspice and cinnamon*
- Optional: Slice an orange and float on top of the punch just before serving or add to the rim of your glasses
*Another helpful hint: If you place the spices in a square of muslin and tie it with a piece of kitchen string, it will make them much easier to remove from the hot cider when you are ready to serve.
