You’re sitting at your desk, daydreaming of your soft and cozy bed, your eyelids growing heavier, when the harsh glare of your computer monitor begins to fade and suddenly you’re dozing off.
Sound familiar?
Here are a few unexpected foods that could be at the root of your afternoon snoozing:
- Salad: Be honest, your “salad” actually consists of greens with a few other veggies and some dressing. If you’re going to eat salad for a meal, you need protein – think nuts, hard-boiled eggs or grilled chicken – or carbs.
- Bananas: Bananas are supposed to be a superfood packed with nutrients, right? Well, not if you’re looking for energy. Bananas have a great deal of magnesium which helps muscle cells relax. Cue your snoring cube-mate.
- Yogurt: Even if you weren’t lactose intolerant as a child, your system can change as you age, which may make milk and dairy products indigestible. Fatigue is one of the first symptoms doctors look for.
