If you or your children ever participated in 4-H, you know how fun and rewarding it can be. 4-H sponsors a host of programs that promote everything from science to healthy living. One way you and your family can support the organization’s initiatives is to attend your local county’s 4-H fair.
Even though summer is quickly winding down, we found a few fairs still worth adding to your calendar:
- When: Ends Saturday, August 1
- Where: Grant County Fairgrounds (115 Baton Rouge Road, Williamstown, KY 41097)
- What: Traditional 4-H shows will be showcased alongside talent shows and racing events. Visit the fair’s website for a full schedule.
- Admission: $10
- When: Saturday, August 1 – Saturday, August 8
- Where: Boone County Fairgrounds (5819 Idlewild Road, Burlington, KY 41005)
- What: This fair has a little bit of everything from traditional sheep, pig and horse shows to laser tag, and even a demolition derby. Visit the fair’s website for a complete list of events.
- Admission: $10
The Kentucky State Fair will be held in Louisville, Kentucky starting August 20. This event will include winners of county livestock fairs, a horse show and free concerts. Tickets are $10 at the gate, or $8 if you order them ahead of time. For a complete schedule of events (including hours of admission), visit the KY State Fair website.
