Schwannomas

Overview

A schwannoma is an often noncancerous tumor of the cells in the tissue that covers the nerves (a nerve sheath). A schwannoma usually occurs on the nerves in the head and neck, but can develop on any nerve.

Symptoms

A lump and an electric-shock sensation when the lump is touched are symptoms.

Treatments

Treatment may include surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy.
