Swelling of the tissues, called tendons, that connect muscle to the bone in the hip joint.

Overview

Hip tendinitis is usually caused by repeating the same movement over time, such as from running. Overuse puts stress on the tendons.

Symptoms

Symptoms include pain, often described as a dull ache, and stiffness.

Treatments

Rest, ice and pain relievers can help. Physical therapy and steroid injections may be necessary.
