St. Elizabeth Healthcare has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® and recertification of the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark for Comprehensive Cardiac Center (CCC).
St Elizabeth’s recertification of its Heart-Check mark for CCC demonstrates the system’s commitment to continuous improvement of patient care. St. Elizabeth underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review as part of the evaluation process. During the visit, a team from the Joint Commission evaluated compliance with related certification standards, including program management, supporting self-management, and delivering and facilitating clinical care.
“Comprehensive Cardiac Center certification recognizes healthcare organizations committed to striving for excellence and fostering continuous improvement in patient safety and quality of care,” says Ken Grubbs, DNP, MBA, RN, Executive Vice President of Accreditation and Certification Operations and Chief Nursing Officer, The Joint Commission. “We commend St. Elizabeth for using The Joint Commission certification process to reduce variation in clinical processes and to strengthen its clinical program to drive safer, higher quality and more compassionate care for individuals served.”
Joint Commission standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts and patients. CCC Certification helps potential patients identify care teams that provide consistent and elevated patient care. The certification places St. Elizabeth in an elite group of hospitals that have met high standards to fully address the needs of patients with complex cardiac conditions.
“We are honored to receive the American Heart Association’s Heart-Check mark for Comprehensive Cardiac Center recertification,” said D.P.
