Lung Conditions: Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is a particular cancer associated with the lungs.

There are two main types of lung cancer:

Some of the most common symptoms associated with lung cancer include:

  • Shortness of breath

  • Loss of appetite

  • Fatigue

  • Coughing up blood

  • Recent weight loss

St. Elizabeth’s Imaging department can provide a number of imaging/radiology services. A CT scan of the chest is often ordered by a physician to help diagnose lung cancer.

Bronchoscopy is another type of procedure performed to help with the diagnosis of lung cancer. The St. Elizabeth Pulmonary Team performs this outpatient procedure.

In addition to your pulmonology team, the St. Elizabeth cancer care team consists of a group of highly-qualified, trained professionals that will provide the support you need.
