Q: What services are included on the estimate for my test(s) or procedure?

Q: Why is my bill a different amount than what was listed on my estimate?

The information provided is only an estimate and is not a guarantee of final billed charges. Final billed charges may vary from hospital estimates for many reasons, such as the patient’s medical condition, unknown circumstances or complications, final diagnosis and actual treatment provided. Insurance benefits may also cause a final bill to vary from an estimate. Insurance benefit information is based on information provided by your insurance company as of the date of the estimate. Benefits and eligibility are subject to change. The information obtained from the insurance carrier may not reflect any payments that are currently in process, which could cause a change in the actual amount due. For information about disputing a self-pay estimate, please follow the instructions on the estimate.

Q: What if I don’t have insurance?

St. Elizabeth will still provide you with an estimate that includes a 40% self-pay discount. This discount is also applicable on your final bill. For more information about good faith self-pay estimates, please click here.

Q: What can I do if I cannot afford the estimated cost of the health care services?

If you are unable to pay the estimated amount due for your services, you may qualify for financial assistance. You can find an application here. If you would like to discuss financial assistance options, please call (859) 655-1925 Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for more information.

Q: What is Hand Therapy?

Hand therapy is the rehabilitation of the upper quarter of the human body (primarily shoulder, elbow, forearm, wrist, and hand). Hand therapy is a merging of occupational therapy and physical therapy theory and practice that combines comprehensive knowledge of the upper extremity. Using specialized skills in assessment and treatment, hand therapists promote the goals of prevention of dysfunction, restoration of function and/or reversal of the progression of injury or disease in order to enhance participation in life situations for individuals with upper extremity disease or injury.
