About Our Program
Our program features academically integrated clinical learning in spiritual care. Interns in our program are provided a combination of face-to-face learning and supervised learning in spiritual care practices. Our CPE units are offered as in-person, distance and hybrid learning opportunities, which can accommodate most situations. We normally conduct a 10-week intensive unit in the summer, and two extended units, one in the fall and one in the spring.
SEH CPE is professionally oriented – we seek to inspire heartfelt chaplain professionalism and ethical practice in spiritual care. The program is open to those involved in pastoral ministry, laypeople, chaplains, those working on ministry-oriented degrees, and those considering any of these ministry outlets. We also welcome members of our allied health professions, including physicians, nurses, social workers and others.
The St. Elizabeth Healthcare Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program offers Level I and Level II. The center fully accredited by ACPE:
