Adam Metzler, MD, specializes in minimally invasive shoulder and knee surgery. Considered one of Cincinnati’s “Top Docs” and a “Rising Star Medical Leader,” Dr. Metzler’s areas of interest and specialization include surgery techniques to restore mobility and function including anterior cruciate and complex knee ligament reconstruction, meniscus repair, cartilage restoration surgery, patella-femoral instability, arthroscopic rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability procedures, biceps tendon repair, clavicle fractures and ankle fractures. He also works with patients who require general orthopaedic fracture care.
As a native of Fairfield, Ohio, Dr. Metzler is a researcher working to uncover the best approaches to issue related to shoulder and knee conditions.

Dr. DesJardins is board-certified and fellowship trained in sports medicine. He is a member of multiple professional societies and currently serves on the sports medicine advisory committee to the Kentucky High School Athletic Association. He is a consultant for several youth sports organizations, and serves as the Team Physician for Cooper High School, and Northern Kentucky University.
He served as a physician for the 2002 Winter Olympics and as a team doctor for the University of Utah.

A native of Northern Kentucky, Dr. Kohrs attended Newport Central Catholic High School and Thomas More College where he excelled academically and athletically.
Dr. Kohrs currently lives in Northern Kentucky with his wife Laura and their three children. He enjoys spending time with his family and has a personal interest in sports, weight lifting, and nutrition. He has gone on mission trips to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Burundi. His goal is to take a comprehensive, personalized approach in the care of his patients.
He has written a book chapter on indications for reverse shoulder arthroplasty as well as conducting research on shoulder and elbow replacements and fractures of the upper extremity. He is a Fellow Member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons.

Dr. Angel Velazquez is board certified and specializes in the nonsurgical treatment of athletic injuries and problems in patients of all ages. He is one of very few physicians utilizing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy to treat sports medicine injuries.
Dr. Velazquez has advanced training in musculoskeletal ultrasound, which he uses in the office to aid in diagnosing and treating orthopedic problems. He also sees patients for general orthopedic problems including arthritis and joint pain.
In his spare time, Dr. Velazquez spends as much time as possible with his family. He enjoys baseball and the outdoors. Other interests including cooking, salsa music and dancing.
Dr. Velazquez treats athletes, weekend warriors, non-athletes and anyone in between.

Kathy Boehmer is a physical therapist and certified athletic trainer who works with a team of specialists to diagnose and treat individuals with injuries to their muscles and bones and works with individuals in the prevention of sports injuries. Her areas of interest include treating hip and knee injuries, sports hernias and athletic low back pain.
As a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Sports Physical Therapy, she is passionate about working with recreational, high school, college and professional athletes. Throughout her 24 years of practice, she has provided educational opportunities for the community and staff at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. She also contributes health information and has been published in Healthy Headlines, In Touch and Healthy Neighbors Newsletters.
