Quality Reporting

Hospital Compare

www.hospitalcompare.hhs.gov

This website was created through the efforts of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), an agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) along with the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA). Hospital Compare has quality measures on how often hospitals provide some of the recommended care to get the best results for most patients. You will see some of the recommended care that an adult should get if being treated for a heart attack, heart failure or pneumonia, or having surgery.

This information will help you compare the quality of care hospitals provide. It also encourages hospitals to improve the quality of heath care they provide.

The Joint Commission

www.qualitycheck.org

The Quality Check website provides information about accreditation decisions and the effective dates of the accreditation award.

The site also lists programs accredited by the Joint Commission, and programs or services accredited by other accrediting bodies.

Compliance with the Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goals, as applicable to the organization is also provided.

This website also provides reports on key quality of care indicators in up to five treatment areas: heart attack, heart failure, community acquired pneumonia, pregnancy and related conditions, and surgical infection prevention. This performance data is updated quarterly. As more measures are approved and endorsed by the National Quality Forum (NQF), the Joint Commission will explore ways to incorporate that data in Quality Reports.

Special quality awards that the organization has received are noted on this site, including recognition such as Disease-Specific Care Certification, Ernest A. Codman Award, and Magnet™ status (awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center), and others approved by the Joint Commission Board of Commissioners.
