Overview

Sexual assault is sexual activity that a person doesn't agree to. It includes touching, harassment, and rape. The act need not be completed to be an assault. It can happen to anyone, but occurs more often to women. The perpetrator is often a friend, acquaintance, or relative. Sexual assault needs to be reported immediately to authorities.
