Raynaud's phenomenon

Updated: 2017-06-13

Overview

In Raynaud's phenomenon, smaller arteries that supply blood to the skin narrow, limiting blood supply to these areas.

Symptoms

Affected areas of the body feel numb and cool in response to cold temperatures or stress. These areas often include the fingers, toes, ears, and tip of the nose.

Treatments

Treatment beyond self-care, such as dressing warmer, usually isn't needed.
