Post-concussion syndrome is a complex disorder in which several post-concussion symptoms last for weeks or months. Concussion is a mild brain injury. It can happen as a result of a fall or auto accident. It also may happen while playing contact sports or from violent shaking and movement of the head or body.

Symptoms

Post-concussion symptoms include headache, dizziness, fatigue, irritability and anxiety. Other symptoms include changes in sleep patterns, trouble with concentration and memory, ringing in the ears, blurry vision, and sensitivity to noise and light.

Treatments

Treatments focus on easing specific symptoms with medicines or therapy.
