Overview

Orchitis is an inflammation of 1 or both testicles, often resulting from the virus that causes mumps. Sexually transmitted infection (STIs) such as gonorrhea or chlamydia can also cause it.

Symptoms

Common symptoms include swelling and pain.

Treatments

Rest, ice, and pain relievers can reduce symptoms. Antibiotics may be needed to treat STIs.
