Chlamydia is an infection by Chlamydia trachomatis bacteria. The bacteria spread from person to person most often during sexual contact. Untreated chlamydia can lead to medical issues, such as damage to fallopian tubes.

Symptoms

Medicines that target bacteria, called antibiotics, treat chlamydia. Screening and treating sex partners helps prevent reinfection.

Treatments
