Know the Signs of Stroke

Please Note: If you believe you may be having a stroke, time is of the essence. Call 911 immediately.

Medical experts agree that the best way to prevent death and severe debilitation from stroke is to get treated in the earliest stages. That means everybody should learn to recognize the warning signs. If you or someone in your presence experiences the sudden onset of any of the following symptoms, call 911 immediately:
  • Weakness or numbness
  • Inability to speak or slurred speech
  • Dizziness
  • Lack of coordination
  • Severe headache

What to Do
Call 911 or emergency responders immediately!

What Not to Do
Do not
make a doctor's appointment.
Do not drive yourself or the patient to the hospital.
Do not wait for additional symptoms.
