Physicians

Dr. Michael J. Miller

Michael J. Miller, M.D. is a sports medicine specialist and has been the Medical Director of St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine since its inception in 1989. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from Miami University in Oxford, OH in 1980. He is also a 1984 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned his M.D degree.

He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and completed a primary care sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in 1988. He holds a current certificate of added qualifications (CAQ) in sports medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine. In 1998, he served as team physician at the Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, New York.

In 2000, he was recognized as a Best Doctor by Cincinnati Magazine. He is very active in teaching and is currently the Director of the St Elizabeth Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship. Dr. Miller also serves as team physician for Ryle High School and Thomas More College.

Dr. Miller is currently an active member of the Kentucky Medical Association committee on physical education and medical aspects of sports. In addition to treating orthopedic injuries, Dr. Miller enjoys treating the medical, psychological and nutritional needs of the active individual. He also has a special interest in the treatment of concussions and is a Credentialed ImPACT™ Consultant.

Dr. Tyler W. Browning

Tyler W. Browning, M.D., joined St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine in 2013, specializing as a Primary Care Sports Medicine provider. He attended the University of Kentucky, earning a bachelor of arts and science in chemistry and chemical engineering. He also attended the University Of Kentucky, College Of Medicine for his medical education. After completing his family medicine residency with St. Elizabeth Healthcare Family Medicine, he became the first to complete the St. Elizabeth Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship program.

Dr. Browning is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, with a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in Sports Medicine. Currently he serves as Scott High School’s Team Physician, an Assistant Team Physician for Thomas More College and a Primary Care Consultant for Northern Kentucky University.

With his Primary Care background, Dr. Browning treats both orthopaedic injuries and various medical conditions of athletes, as well as having a specific interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound diagnostics and guided procedures. Having trained with Dr. Michael Miller, he has also developed an interest in the assessment and treatment of sports-related concussion.

In addition to his sports medicine practice, Dr. Browning maintains a family medicine practice for St. Elizabeth Physicians, located in Campbell County.

Athletic Trainers

Theresa B. is an Athletic Trainer for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. She currently serves as the Head Athletic Trainer for Thomas More College. Previously, she has served in that capacity for several local high schools including: Villa Madonna Academy, Scott High School, Connor High School and Highlands High School.

Theresa earned her undergraduate degree from The Ohio State University and her master’s degree from the University of North Dakota. She is also a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC).

Working as a volunteer instructor for the American Red Cross, Theresa has taught well over 300 hours of CPR to local high school and college coaches. She has also been involved with teaching high school coaches in Northern Kentucky and Maysville at the Northern Kentucky Sports Medicine Conferences with her primary focus on head and neck injuries. Theresa is also an Approved Clinical Instructor for the Northern Kentucky University athletic training program and is a past recipient of Kentucky’s Athletic Trainers’ Society “College Athletic Trainer of the Year”.


Brad B. is a board-certified athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC) and is a licensed athletic trainer in the state of Kentucky. His primary responsibility for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine is to provide Athletic Training Services for Ryle High School in Union, Ky.

Brad received his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from Northern Kentucky University. While at NKU Brad received 3 Achievement Awards in the field of Athletic Training and spent 2 years working with the Cincinnati Bengals. In 2011, he received the honor of Outstanding Athletic Trainer, awarded by the Dean of NKU.


Mike B. is responsible for providing athletic training services for St. Henry District High School. Previously, he was the Athletic Trainer at Beechwood High School.

Mike earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University in physical education, recreation and fitness with a minor in athletic training. He is a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC).

In 1996, Mike served as part of the Olympic Medical Staff in Atlanta, GA. He also worked as an Athletic Trainer with the US National Diving Team covering numerous Indoor National Diving Championships and was the Head Athletic Trainer for the 1999 JR World Diving Championships in Perdubice, CZCH. He also spent 2 years providing medical coverage for the U23-US Women's Rugby Team.


Alicia B. is a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC). In addition to her work for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine, she also provides athletic training services for Conner High School in Hebron, Kentucky.

Alicia received her bachelor’s degree in athletic training with a minor in health care from Northern Kentucky University. While at Northern Kentucky University she worked with many local high school and collegiate sports.


Tracy C. began her career with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine as an Assistant Athletic Trainer for Thomas More College. She currently serves as the Head Athletic Trainer for Highlands High School.

Tracy is a graduate of Thomas More College where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology. She is also a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC). Previously, she worked as a graduate student at the University of Cincinnati, teaching CPR and First Aid Safety classes and is currently certified to teach both CPR/First Aid and Professional Rescuer Training through the American Red Cross. She is a past recipient of the “Kentucky High School Athletic Trainer of the Year” award.


Dan E. is responsible for providing athletic training services for Cooper High School in Union, KY.

Dan earned a bachelor's degree in athletic training from Wilmington College. After graduation, he began working with the St. Luke Hospitals as an Exercise Specialist/Certified Athletic Trainer where he worked as a Sports Performance Instructor and provided various athletic training services.




Sandy E. is responsible for providing athletic training coverage for Grant County High School in Dry Ridge, KY. Previously, she has worked with several high school outreach programs throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.

Sandy attended Eastern Kentucky University where she received her undergraduate degree in physical education and athletic training. She is also a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC).


Brenda G.’s primary responsibility for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine is providing athletic training services for Scott High School in Taylor Mill, Kentucky.

Brenda earned her undergraduate degree in sports medicine from Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and her master of education while working as a graduate assistant at the University of Louisville.




Jessica H. serves as the Athletic Trainer for the Cincinnati Kings PDL team. She also assists in covering at various local high school events throughout Northern Kentucky.

Jessica attended Morehead State University, where she was a swimmer, before transferring to Northern Kentucky University. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University.

In addition to being a certified Athletic Trainer, Jessica is also a certified Personal Trainer. This combination is an advantage to athletes in need of advanced exercise programs, sport-specific training, and support/education with healthy eating habits.


Scott H. is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Manager of Ambulatory Serives/Sports Medicine for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. He earned his bachelor of science in health education from the University of Cincinnati and his master of science in physical education from Ohio University. He is a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC) and serves as the Athletic Trainer for Holy Cross High School. He provides care for the athletes at Holy Cross by being on-site for numerous athletic events and is available for injury consultations as needed.

Scott serves as a member of the University of Cincinnati’s Athletic Training Education Program’s Advisory Board and the Gateway Community College’s Massage Therapy Program Board and has been recognized by the Kentucky Athletic Trainer’s Society as their Clinical Athletic Trainer of the Year.

Scott has a special interest in caring for those with neck and back pain and has invested a majority of his post-graduate continuing education work in this area.


Erica L. is a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC). Her primary responsibility is fulfilling all athletic training services for Notre Dame Academy.

Erica is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training. She has also earned a master’s degree from Union College in physical education, health, and wellness.



Michelle M. is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC) and is a licensed athletic trainer in Kentucky. She provides Athletic Training coverage for Villa Madonna Academy and other schools affiliated with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine on an on-call basis.

Michelle is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University where she earned her bachelor of science in athletic training.

Michelle is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association (SEATA) and the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society (KATS).


Dawna P. is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Supervisor of Athletic Training Services for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. She is also the Physician Extender for Dr. Michael J. Miller.

Dawna is a graduate of Thomas More College where she earned a bachelor’s degree in human biodynamics and an associate’s degree in biology. She was a graduate assistant at Northern Kentucky University and received her master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in health promotion and education.

Dawna is a licensed Athletic Trainer for the State of Kentucky, is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC). She is also certified through the American Red Cross to teach CPR and First Aid & Safety.


Bill T. is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant and a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC). He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

Bill earned his bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University and then pursued a master’s degree from the University of South Alabama. He graduated with honors in exercise physiology.

Before joining the team at St Elizabeth Sports Medicine, Bill held positions as both the Head Athletic Trainer at Georgia College & State University and Northern Kentucky University. He is currently the Athletic Trainer for Bishop Brossart High School. He states that one of his most rewarding experiences was his involvement in working with the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia in 1996.

Bill is a past recipient of the Kentucky High School Athletic Trainer of the Year award and actively participates in the Southeast Athletic Trainers Association and Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society. He is an Approved Clinical Instructor for Northern Kentucky University, University of Cincinnati, and Mount St. Joseph College, which enables him to mentor students in the field of athletic training.


Kelly T. is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC) and is a licensed athletic trainer in Kentucky. She provides athletic training coverage for Newport Central Catholic High School and is an approved Clinical Instructor for Northern Kentucky University.

Kelly earned her associate’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and her bachelor’s degree from Northern Kentucky University. She has earned two master’s degrees: the first from Tennessee Tech University while serving as a graduate assistant athletic trainer and the second from the University of the Cumberlands. She is also a P-12 certified Health Educator.

Kelly is a past recipient of the Kentucky Athletic Trainers Society’s “High School Athletic Trainer of the Year” award.


Chris U. works as the athletic trainer at Covington Catholic High School. He also has extensive experience in sports performance training.

Chris is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University where he earned a bachelor of science in athletic training with a minor in recreation fitness. Previously, he worked as a Sports Medicine Intern for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Chris is a board certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Training Association (NATABOC) and a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.


Ashley V. is a Board Certified Athletic Trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC) and is a licensed athletic trainer in Kentucky. She provides Athletic Training coverage for Calvary Christian School and other schools affiliated with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine on an on-call basis.

Ashley is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University where she earned her bachelor of science in athletic training.




Physical Therapists

Bill B. is a Staff Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. In addition to his work for St. Elizabeth Healthcare, he also assists with the athletic training coverage for Holy Cross High School, and treats student-athletes from Thomas More College three half-days a week. He is also a Clinical Instructor for physical therapy students and athletic training students from various colleges and universities.

Bill is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and an associate of science in athletic training. He also holds a physical therapist assistant degree from the University of Indianapolis and a master of science in physical therapy from the University of Findlay.

Bill has attended a number of continuing education courses dealing with rehabilitation of orthopaedic patients but has a special interest in sports medicine injuries.


Kathy B. is a Specialty Program Coordinator - Sports Medicine and a Physical Therapist with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. She received her bachelor of science in biology and minor in athletic training from Northern Kentucky University, her bachelor of health science in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky and her master of health science in physical therapy from the University of Indianapolis. She is also a certified athletic trainer.

In 2012, Kathy completed her recertification as a Sports Clinical Specialist through the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Board after her initial ten year certification. This distinguished accomplishment demonstrates Kathy’s ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth.

Kathy’s areas of clinical interest are shoulder pathology and rehabilitation. She has also served as a member of the faculty at Northern Kentucky University in the Department of Biology and has presented at the Kentucky Athletic Trainer’s Symposium.

Kathy is the Clinic Coordinator of Clinical Education and serves to facilitate communication and placement of physical therapist and physical therapist assistant students within our facility. She is an Approved Clinical Instructor for Northern Kentucky University’s Athletic Training Program.

Kathy previously served as a Certified Athletic Trainer for Scott High School and Notre Dame High School. She currently provides game coverage throughout the year for our area schools.

Kathy is a three-time winner of St. Elizabeth Medical Center’s Excel award.


Danae B. is a Physical Therapist with St. Elizabeth Healthcare. She is a graduate of Georgetown College where she earned her bachelor of science in exercise science and psychology. She has also earned her doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Cincinnati.

Danae currently works in the outpatient setting specializing in the rehabilitation of shoulder and spine patients. Her special interests include manual therapy and orthopaedics, including running injuries.


Chris C.
is a Physical Therapist with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Cumberland and his master’s degree in physical therapy from the University of Louisville. He primarily practices orthopaedic physical therapy.

While doing his undergraduate work, Chris was a four-year pitcher on the baseball team for the University of Cumberland (formerly Cumberland College). That experience has led him to have a special interest in working with pitchers and other shoulder patients. Some of his continuing education courses include the Baseball Team Medicine Conference by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society, the Shoulder Center of Kentucky, and the University of Kentucky Sports Medicine Symposium.

Chris is the coordinator of the pitching program at St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine, which hosted its first ever Baseball Pitching Conference in 2008. He currently works with little league, high school, and college pitchers on return-to-throwing programs; strengthening programs specifically for baseball players; and video analysis of pitching mechanics.


Stacey M. is a Physical Therapist with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. He has worked with patients of all ages suffering from a variety of neurologic, orthopedic, and soft tissue injuries over the course of his career. He earned a bachelor of Science in biology and a bachelor of health science in physical therapy from the University of Kentucky. Prior to joining St. Elizabeth Healthcare, he practiced at a number of inpatient and outpatient facilities throughout Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.

Stacey enjoys evaluating and treating a variety of patients but has a special interest in working with runners. He works with both recreational and competitive runners and strives to help them reach their specific goals. He also works with local high school track and cross country coaches in order to help their runners recover from injury and return to competition as soon as possible.

Stacey was a co-coordinator of the First Annual Runner’s Conference which provides the latest health information to runners, coaches, and area health professionals who work with runners. At the clinic, Stacey performed multi-angle video analysis of runners and used the information gained from these slow motion videos in his evaluation and treatment of patients. He has completed 10 marathons and is an excellent source for correct training information.


Thomas S. is a Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. He previously worked as a Physical Therapist for The Christ Hospital and has worked in the clinical setting.

Tom earned his undergraduate degree in athletic training from The Ohio State University, his master’s degree in athletic training from the University of Cincinnati and his physical therapy degree from Georgia State University.

Tom’s clinical interests include most orthopaedic areas, specifically treating problems with the neck and lower back, shoulder and elbow, hips, knees, and feet.


Matt W. is a Physical Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer and Manager of Rehab Serives for St. Elizabeth. He earned a bachelor’s degree in both athletic training and exercise science from Lipscomb University, and his doctor of physical therapy from Belmont University. He has taught Advanced Athletic Training at Thomas More College, and has been a Clinical Instructor for physical therapy students throughout the country. Matt is currently working toward a master’s in business administration from Colorado State University.

Matt is certified in both orthopaedic and sports physical therapy by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Board of Specialties and in 2012, he completed his recertification as a Sports Clinical Specialist through the APTA Board after his initial ten year certification. This distinguished accomplishment demonstrates Matt’s ongoing commitment to personal and professional growth.

Matt is a board certified athletic trainer through the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATABOC), and is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.

While Matt is interested in all orthopaedic and sports injuries, he has a special interest in injuries to the spine. He is endorsed by the American Back Pain Center to see low back, thoracic and neck injuries, including headache and migraine patients.



Physical Therapist Assistants

Mark C. is a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant with St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine.

Mark earned his associate’s of applied science at the University of Cincinnati where he also completed the Physical Therapist Assistant program. He has worked in a variety of settings including home health and nursing homes with a present focus in outpatient orthopaedics.

Mark leans toward the utilization of manual skills, particularly with the shoulder, and focuses on restoring range and function in both the preoperative and postoperative patient. Mark feels that it is essential to attend continuing education courses in manual techniques in order to remain abreast of new approaches and skills which can be used to enhance his abilities as a clinician.



Radiologic Technician

Marcia E. is a Radiologic Technologist for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. She received her associate’s degree in radiologic technology from Northern Kentucky University and is responsible for taking radiographic images and assisting Dr. Miller, as well as obtaining pertinent patient information and results.







Support Staff

Carmen H. currently serves as an Office Associate for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. She has always enjoyed providing excellent customer service and her passion is working with our patients.

Carmen enjoys greeting patients while facilitating a positive and supportive environment and strives to make everyone feel welcome and at ease.




Vicky H. is a Front Office Assistant for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine. She enjoys the everyday person-to-person contact and strives to provide the best quality care to each individual patient.








Jane M. began her career in Sports Medicine as Dr. Michael Miller’s personal secretary and billing specialist. She is now an integral part of the front office staff for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine.

Jane takes pride in working with the patients at Sports Medicine to help make their visit as easy and enjoyable as possible, from the initial phone call for an appointment, until the moment they check out.



Connie S. enjoys working for St. Elizabeth Sports Medicine where her primary responsibilities include assisting in the front office with scheduling patients and communicating with the therapist and the doctors.
