By age 20, everyone should know their risk of heart disease. There are many factors, some of which you can control, and others which cannot be controlled. Factors which cannot be controlled include age, race, gender, and family history. The important risk factors for heart disease which can be controlled or treated include:
- Smoking
- High Blood Pressure
- High Cholesterol
- Diabetes
- Being overweight or obese
- Physical Inactivity
