Imaging

Superior imaging/radiology services are vital in today’s healthcare. Physicians routinely order these types of exams so that they can have a better idea of what is going on inside their patients, allowing them to work toward getting their patients back to good health.

Image Gently/Image Wisely

Image Gently, initially launched in January 2008, is a campaign led by the Alliance for Radiation Safety in Pediatric Imaging to increase awareness of protecting children from excessive radiation during radiology imaging. Radiation is often necessary for proper diagnosis in radiology, but often that amount can be lessened and still achieve the information needed.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare has made a commitment to this end by having all radiology technologists who use radiation in their exams to take the pledge.

Image Wisely, initially launched in November 2010, represents a “Joint Task Force” through efforts by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA). This campaign seeks to reduce the amount of radiation used in medically necessary imaging, while simultaneously reducing the number of unnecessary exams. This program has a focus on the adult population.

St. Elizabeth Healthcare radiology technologists have also taken this pledge to reduce radiation exposure.
