According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the number one cause of death in the U.S. That’s why, at the St. Elizabeth Heart & Vascular Institute, we offer education to help you live healthier and preventative programs to catch potential issues before they become more serious.

Mobile Heart and Vascular Screenings
The St. Elizabeth CardioVascular Mobile Health Unit, sponsored by The Bank of Kentucky, travels across the region, providing accessible, low-cost heart and vascular screenings. Stops include physician offices, churches, businesses, health fairs and retail sites. The unit also allows St. Elizabeth to reach those who either can’t travel to healthcare providers or might not otherwise seek cardiovascular screenings.

Heart Healthy Lifestyle
While some factors that contribute to heart disease are out of your control, such as age, gender, race and family history, there are several factors that you can control and at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, we give you the tools to do just that. The American Heart Association has created a tool called My Life Check® to assess your lifestyle and find areas where you can improve. To take advantage of this tool, please click here.

Freshstart Smoking Cessation

The program is designed to help you, the adult smoker, take charge of your efforts to quit smoking or using other forms of tobacco. The program makes maximum use of your time with group interaction to help support your quitting goals and individualized attention to figure out what will work best for you.
