We all know how well New Year’s resolutions tend to work. You make them, try them for a little while, then inevitably, they fall by the wayside. Rather than make one resolution that may or may not stick this year, why not try something new every month during 2015?

Easily accessible to all
Yoga can be done by almost anyone at any age, and the investment is minimal. All you need are comfortable clothes and something soft to practice on ““ find something skid resistant if you’re not on carpet.
If you’re the kind of person who prefers working out in a group, you can find formal classes, usually with a fee involved. It can also be done by yourself with DVDs and online classes, if you’re more of a solo exerciser.
No need to be an expert, you can find numerous options for levels of desired difficulty or challenge. The best part, yoga can be done anytime, anywhere.
Where to start
If you are worried that yoga isn’t for you, it is absolutely appropriate to attend any offered class as an observer. Just call ahead and speak with the instructor to ask questions. Get guidance regarding what type of yoga may be best for you to try. Always confirm the instructor is certified in his or her type of yoga instruction.
Before you go, look for short videos on YouTube to see what is involved in the specific kind of yoga you are trying. Feeling uneasy? Invite a friend or two to join you ““ it’s always fun to try something new with a group of people. If you already know someone who loves yoga, ask to tag along to a class.
