6 July races to start training for today

Need a little motivation to get in shape this summer? Consider  registering  for a race happening in Greater Cincinnati  this July. One of these beginner training plans will help you prepare  for an upcoming 5K:

1.  City of Edgewood & Tri-State Running Co. 2015 Independence Day 5K

• What: Join the annual Independence Day Edgewood 5K
• Where: Race starts and finishes at President’s Park, Edgewood, Kentucky
• When: Saturday, July 4 at 7:30 a.m.
• Cost: Pre-registration is either $15 to $25; race day registration is $35

2.  2015 Rocketman 5K, 10K & 15K

• What: Kick off your July 4th  celebration with a 5K, 10K or 15K on a cool, flat course
• Where: Miami Riverview Park, Little Miami Bike Trail
• When: Saturday, July 4
• Cost: $15 for the 5K, $18 for the 10K and $22 for the 15K

3.  Pray-Hope-Believe 5K

• What: The PrayHopeBelieve Foundation (PHBF) funds research for pediatric brain tumors. PHBF is part of The Cure Starts Now Foundation, the national nonprofit organization that also partnered with Lauren Hill’s Club 22.
• Where: Colerain Township Municipal Complex
• When: Saturday, July 4 at 8:30 a.m. (registration begins at 6:30 a.m.)
• Cost: $15 for racers 13 and under, $20 for racers 14 and  older

4.  Run for Liberty 5K

• What:  Get your run in ahead of the 30th annual July 4th  parade
• Where: Liberty Park (6757 Yankee Road)
• When: Saturday, July 4 at 8 a.m.
• Cost: $20 for pre-registration, $25 for race day registration

5.  The Color Run All-Star 5K

• What: The Color Run is a fun race where runners and walkers are covered in powdered color
• Where: Sawyer Point
• When: Saturday, July 11 at 9:00 a.m.
• Cost: Individuals can register for $35, teams of four or more can register for $39.50/each

6.  Walk of Angels 5K

• What: The Walk of Angels 5K benefits Driving Angels, a peer-led driving program to keep teenagers safe on the road
• When:Sunday, July 26
• Where: 4389 Spring Grove Ave. Cincinnati, OH 45223
• Cost: $20 pre-registration, $25 race day registration
