Symptoms

The main symptom of orthostatic hypotension is lightheadedness or dizziness when standing after sitting or lying down. Other symptoms can include fading vision, weakness, fainting, confusion and a feeling of heaviness in the head, neck or shoulders.

Treatments

Orthostatic hypotension treatment depends on the cause. Lifestyle changes may help. Sometimes, medicines are needed to raise blood pressure or the amount of blood in the body.
