Williamstown, KY—Cardiac electrophysiologists with St. Elizabeth Physicians and St. Elizabeth Heart & Vascular Institute are opening an outreach office in Grant County. Thomas P. Carrigan, MD; Mohamad Sinno, MD; or J. Christian Hays, MD, are available for patient appointments at St. Elizabeth Grant, 238 Barnes Road, Williamstown, every other Friday. The office opened on June 27. Electrophysiologists are specialist physicians who focus on the electrical system of the heart, providing diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders such as atrial fibrillation.
This additional office makes cardiac electrophysiology care more accessible to patients in Grant and surrounding counties, supporting the Heart & Vascular Institute’s goal of reducing heart-related deaths by 25 percent by the end of 2025. These physicians specialize in minimally invasive procedures to treat atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders in patients for whom medication is not managing symptoms. They provide consultations, diagnosis, and follow-up care, as well as device checks for pacemakers and internal cardiac defibrillators (ICDs). Electrophysiology procedures will be done at St. Elizabeth Edgewood in the electrophysiology lab. For appointments, call (859) 331-3353.
“By bringing specialty medical care to our community, this is another example of how St. Elizabeth Grant is more than just a community hospital,” said John Mitchell, Assistant Vice President, Operations Grant. “We continually strive to bring extraordinary care to the community so residents don’t have to travel.”
