HomeTown Excellence

Introducing our 2024 healthcare champions, Eric Davis and Elly De La Cruz.

In 1997, Eric Davis battled colon cancer. His diagnosis was confirmed during a colonoscopy, successfully treated, and led to Davis’ ability to return to the game of baseball. This year, Davis is partnering with St. Elizabeth Healthcare in raising cancer awareness and emphasizing the importance of all regular screenings – including breast, cervical, colon, lung and prostate cancers. The American Cancer Society recommends all people at average risk begin colon screenings at age 45. Family history, genetic disorders or other factors may require the need to start screenings at a younger age. Take inspiration from #44, and get screened when you’re 45.

In 2023, Elly De La Cruz made his MLB debut with the Reds and quickly electrified both fans and the game. A blend of power, speed and magnetic personality, Elly is living up to the hype of #44. De La Cruz’s dynamic and innovative play has been game-changing and mirrors St. Elizabeth and the care provided to the region it serves. To find one of the nation’s best baseball players and healthcare organizations, look no further than Elly De La Cruz and St. Elizabeth Healthcare. Both are right here, close to home.
